WORKING TOOL / RFQ ECONOMICS

What is one more qualified manufacturing RFQ actually worth?

Model potential annual contribution from additional sales-accepted RFQs. The calculator does not predict rankings, traffic, conversion rates or revenue. It simply makes your assumptions transparent.

YOUR ASSUMPTIONS

Make the commercial case in plain numbers.

A manufacturer with long sales cycles and high deal values should examine *incremental qualified opportunities*, not raw form submissions. Enter conservative figures based on your own sales records.

Privacy: inputs and calculations remain in this browser. Nothing on this tool is submitted to us.

Incremental RFQs, not your total existing volume.
Use your historical close rate for comparable qualified deals.
After direct fulfilment costs, not headline contract revenue.

HOW THE MODEL WORKS

Four variables. One important qualification.

The value of SEO depends on incremental, sales-qualified enquiries that can be attributed with reasonable confidence.

The calculation

Annual gross contribution = additional qualified RFQs each month × 12 × proportion becoming won deals × gross contribution per won deal.

Annual programme cost = monthly programme spend × 12.

Difference = modelled annual gross contribution − annual programme cost. It excludes the cost of the manufacturer's internal sales effort, capital constraints and any other programme costs.

Why the assumptions matter

Industrial purchases can take many months. Closed deals in a given year may come from enquiries received much earlier. Repeat orders may increase lifetime value, but should not be counted until supported by your records. Neither search impressions nor a downloaded product drawing necessarily represents a sales-qualified RFQ.

What to measure next

Agree the definition of a suitable RFQ, verify enquiry delivery, record organic landing pages and connect opportunities to issued quotes and eventual accepted orders. Review by product family, not just total traffic.

BEFORE YOU INVEST

Use the model to ask better questions.

01 / CAPACITY

Can we fulfil incremental work?

A qualified enquiry has little value if its specifications or timing cannot be met.

02 / ATTRIBUTION

Can we distinguish the lead source?

Use CRM stage definitions, delivery checks and an honest unknown-source category.

03 / TIMING

Can we sustain a long sales cycle?

Track RFQ and quote progression rather than assuming closed revenue appears in the first month.
